The Shaktipunj Express had stopped halting at Chainpur during the COVID-19 pandemic. The AJSUP party staged two indefinite protests at the Chainpur station since November 17th, leading to a meeting between their representatives and the Divisional Railway Manager in Dhanbad on December 8th. Following the meeting, the Railway Board issued an order for the resumption of the train's halt at Chainpur starting February 26th.
