The Chhattisgarh Transport Minister has written a letter to the Indian government urging them to establish rail and air connectivity between Chhattisgarh and Bangladesh. This letter was sent in June 2024 and highlights the need for improved transport links between the two countries.

Chhattisgarh ke Transport Minister ne India Sarkar ko ek letter likha hai jisme unhone Bangladesh ke saath rail aur air connectivity banane ki maang ki hai. Ye letter June 2024 mein bheja gaya tha aur isme dono deshon ke beech accha transport link banane ki zarurat par zor diya gaya hai.

spokesperson, Sabyasachi Dey, confirmed the departure of two trains, one with 49 wagons bound for Dharmanagar, Tripura, and the other with 50 wagons, 25 destined for Dharmanagar and 25 for Silchar, Assam. Dey indicated that track repair work is ongoing and the resumption of freight services depends on weather conditions. Tripura's Chief Minister, Manik Saha, thanked Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the efforts. The Tripura government initiated petrol and diesel distribution for two-wheelers, cars, and commercial vehicles on April 30th. However, the state's food and civil supplies director, Nirmal Adhikari, acknowledged the ongoing fuel crisis and uncertainty regarding the full restoration of freight services.
