a ditch on the road during the rainy season, which filled with rainwater, making it difficult to see. The incident occurred near the Chaufatka petrol pump on Kanpur Road in Civil Lines. The police informed the family about the accident and took the body to the mortuary. After a post-mortem on Thursday afternoon, the body was handed over to the family. Akhtar's family, including his wife Mumtaz Begum, son Aferoz, Ashraf, Sabir, and daughter Noor Akhtar, were devastated. They were unable to believe he had died due to a simple accident. Akhtar retired from the railway as a guard in 2019. His family claimed that he was planning to return home early on Wednesday evening but was involved in the accident instead. The family initially held the water board responsible but later declined to file a police report. The police stated that they had not received any complaint from the family.
