Passengers alerted railway officials, who stopped the train and handed over the children to ASI Sudhir Kumar Singh and ASI Dilip Kumar. The deceased's body was taken into custody by GRP officials and sent to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The children are currently with Childline officers Jamshed Alam and Ranju Kumari. The man's wife was in Mumbai.
