1. Except the T.No.56882, all other passenger trains are yet to be opened up for public usage.
2. Earlier in this same metre gauge line, there was train from Thiruvannamalai to Chennai Tambaram Fast Passenger service and meenakshi Express runs 7 days a week. But the southern railway new timetable doesnot boast any info of these two.

Good news southern railway introducing 6 passenger trains between villupuram-tiruvannamalai-katpadi ,train numbers are 56881,56882,56883,56884,56885,56886 .Introduction date will be notified later.
as announced earlier, villupuram purulia will halt at thirukoilur station. why not the khoragpur express to get halt in thirukoilur station? moreover this villupuram - katpadi lines are treated like an island. no one takes any initiative of opening up a service from villupuram to bangalore. if you see the number of people travelling between these two cities, the count will be almost 1000 to 2000 everyday. if the concern authorities, open up a service from villupuram to bangalore (fast psgr or express), the people in cuddalore, pondy, villupuram, thiruvannamalai, polur, vellore will be most benefited. and the spl passenger which they opened up some villupuram-katpadi is even now running after the end date which they made in the announcement.
This is the only daily-apart from that Kharagpur-villupuram weekly and Tirupati-Madurai bi-weekly run between these station
