The railway has announced six Holi special trains running up and down via Bareilly. Bookings have also started for Anand Vihar-Chhapra, Anand Vihar-Gorakhpur and Tanakpur-Madar Holi special trains on different dates. Given the increased demand for trains, the railways are considering running additional Holi special trains.

As of February 10th, the 13237 Patna-Kota Express has a waiting list of 63 for sleeper class and all categories for AC coaches. The 14853 Marudhar Express has a waiting list exceeding 75 in sleeper class, while the 13151 Kolkata-Jammu Tawi Express has 61 on the waiting list for sleeper class and waiting lists for 3rd AC and 2nd AC as well. The 13307 Ganga Satluj Express also has a waiting list exceeding 50 for sleeper class.

Express were delayed by a massive 18 hours, scheduled to arrive at 1 AM instead of their expected arrival time of 6:30 AM. Other trains like the Durgiyana Express, the Sealdah Duronto Express, and the Sealdah Express also faced delays of several hours. Consequently, the departure times of several trains from New Delhi have been altered. The Purva Express, which was originally scheduled to leave New Delhi on January 23rd at 5:40 PM, is now scheduled to depart at 9:30 PM. The New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Express is also running delayed, scheduled to depart at 12:50 AM instead of 5 PM. The Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Express will be delayed by 10 hours and 35 minutes on the 24th.
