Express will be reduced, and the number of sleeper and general coaches will be increased. These changes will come into effect on August 11, 2024 for the Ganga Satluj Express departing from Dhanbad and on August 13, 2024 for the Ganga Satluj Express departing from Firozpur. The Ganga Damodar Express and Patna-Dumka-Patna Express will also have changes in their coach compositions starting August 15th and 16th, respectively. The number of sleeper coaches on the Ganga Damodar Express will be reduced from eight to six, and the number of general coaches will be increased. The number of sleeper coaches on the Patna-Dumka-Patna Express will be increased from three to five. There will be no changes to the AC coaches on either train.

The composition of train coaches on the Ganga Satluj and Ganga Damodar Express trains departing from Dhanbad will be altered starting in August. The railway has announced six Holi special trains running up and down via Bareilly. Bookings have also started for Anand Vihar-Chhapra, Anand Vihar-Gorakhpur and Tanakpur-Madar Holi special trains on different dates. Given the increased demand for trains, the railways are considering running additional Holi special trains.
