The North Eastern Railway is also operating 24 pairs of special trains from Gorakhpur Junction, 15 pairs from Chhapra, five from Banaras, two pairs from Lucknow, and seven pairs from various stations in Uttarakhand like Tanakpur, Lalkuan, and Ramnagar. To accommodate the increased passenger traffic during summer, the railway administration has also extended the trips of some summer special trains. For example, the 05309/05310 Mau-Anand Vihar terminus-Mau summer special weekly train will operate for 10 trips from Mau from April 28 to June 23 every Sunday and from Anand Vihar terminus from April 29 to June 24 every Monday. The railway is also providing facilities like 220 water coolers, 7,000 water taps, and 1,003 hand pumps at stations, and railway staff and scouts are providing drinking water in trains. Due to platform renovation at Prayagraj Junction, the routes of several trains have been altered. For instance, the 15018 Gorakhpur-Lokmanya Tilak terminus Express train will be diverted from its usual route and will run via Varanasi Jn.-Prayagraj Chhivki-Manikpur from April 28 to June 11. The 15017 Lokmanya Tilak terminus-Gorakhpur Express train will follow a similar route from April 27 to June 10. The 15267 Raxaul-Lokmanya Tilak terminus Express train will also be diverted from April 27 to June 8, and the 15268 Lokmanya Tilak terminus-Raxaul Express train from April 29 to June 10. The 11037 Pune-Gorakhpur Express train will be diverted from May 2 to June 6, and the 11038 Gorakhpur-Pune Express train from May 4 to June 8. The 11033 Pune-Darbhanga Express train will also be diverted from May 1 to June 5.
