The Northeast Railway administration released helpline numbers for major stations immediately after the derailment of the 15904 Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express. Several other trains were rerouted, with their routes varying from train to train. The routes were changed to avoid the affected section and ensure the safe passage of passengers.

The 15022 Gorakhpur-Shalimar Express will have a controlled speed for 40 minutes on June 24th. The Chhapra Kacheri-Mau Passenger train will have a controlled speed for 30 minutes on June 24th. Despite the official cancellation of the 15017 LTT-Gorakhpur Kashi Express on the NTES website, the train operated from Varanasi Cantt. This discrepancy has raised concerns among passengers.
