The introduction of this direct service is expected to benefit travelers from Dumka and surrounding areas, providing a faster and more convenient route to Patna. The return journey from Dumka will start at 2:05 PM, reaching Bhagalpur at 4:32 PM and Patna at 9:45 PM. This extension will cause slight adjustments in the timings of three other trains: 13235 Sahibganj-Danapur Intercity, 13236 Danapur-Sahibganj Intercity, and 03488 Kiul-Jamalpur DEMU Passenger. The Ganga-Damodar Express will continue to operate its Dhanbad-Patna service as usual, departing Dhanbad at 11:20 PM and arriving in Patna at 5:15 AM. It will then be used for the Patna-Dumka service, departing Patna at 6:40 AM and returning to Patna at 9:45 PM. The train will then depart from Patna for Dhanbad at 11:30 PM.

The Howrah-Gaya Express (13023/13024) and the Sahibganj-Danapur Express (13235/13236) will soon have a stop at Mirza Chauki Railway Station in Jharkhand. 13235 (Sahibganj-Danapur Intercity) will follow the new schedule starting December 25th. These changes are intended to address the issue of passengers missing connecting trains due to the late arrival of the Intercity trains in Patna. The speed of the Bhagalpur-Danapur Intercity has also been increased between Kiul and Patna. The new arrival times for the trains are as follows: Bhagalpur-Danapur Intercity will arrive in Patna at 11:00 am from December 18th, while the Sahibganj Intercity will arrive in Patna at 10:00 pm from December 25th. The departure times for the trains from Danapur remain unchanged.
