The base kitchen will be operated by RK Associates & Hoteliers Private Limited, which also manages base kitchens in other stations in Jharkhand. The facility has separate sections for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food preparation, as well as a dedicated section for parathas. The kitchen is air-conditioned and equipped with chimneys and hygiene facilities. The establishment of base kitchens is part of the Indian Railways' plan to eliminate pantry cars from trains, aiming to improve the quality and hygiene of food served to passengers. The base kitchen in Dhanbad will initially serve 12302 Howrah Rajdhani Express and 12314 Sealdah Rajdhani Express. Plans are in place to extend services to other trains like 13151 Kolkata-Jammu Tawi Express, 12019-12020 Howrah-Ranchi-Howrah Shatabdi Express, 22317 Sealdah-Jammu Tawi Humsafar Express, 12260 Bikaner-Sealdah Duronto Express, 12379 Sealdah-Amritsar Jallianwala Bagh Express, and 12329 Sealdah-Anand Vihar West Bengal Sampark Kranti Express.

A total of 264 trains pass through Prayagraj Junction, with 35 pairs (70 trains) operating daily, 108 trains operating once a week, and others operating between two to four days a week. Prayagraj is the most populous district in the state and is also known as a religious and spiritual city. Several state-level offices, including the Allahabad High Court, are located in Prayagraj. Despite being the location of the General Manager and Divisional Railway Manager offices, 24 pairs of trains do not stop here, while all of these trains stop at Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, located approximately 150 km away. Considering the upcoming Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj next year, a demand has been made to ensure that all trains passing through the city stop there. Currently, a proposal has been sent to the Railway Board for all non-stop trains passing through Prayagraj to stop, keeping the Kumbh Mela in mind. The Senior DCM of North Central Railway Prayagraj Division, Himanshu Shukla, states that there is hope that the board will grant permission for the trains to stop here.
