Shri P.K.Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway made an inspection of the o­ngoing works o­n the Sultanpur-Margutti Section of the Gulbarga-Bidar New Railway Line Project today i.e.,19th August, 2014. SCR has set a target to complete 40 kms length of this new railway line project between Sultanpur – Margutti during the current fiscal 2014 – 2015.The General Manager was accompanied by Shri K.V.Shiva Prasad, Chief Engineer, Construction, Shri G.V.V.S.Raju and Shri Sandeep Jain, Deputy Chief Engineers, Construction, South Central Railway and Other Officials during the inspection.

and allocation of funds for the project. This prestigious project of 107 kms of new line between Gulbarga – Bidar being taken up at a total cost of Rs. 844 crs is set to herald a new dawn in the transport infrastructure scenario of Hyderabad - Karnataka region.
During the course of his visit,Shri P.K.Srivastava made a detailed check of the entire stretch between Sultanpur-Margutti and reviewed the pace of the o­ngoing works, keeping in view the target to complete 40 kms length of new railway line during the current fiscal 2014-15. The General Manager was updated o­n the actual status of the works, including the extent of completion as also the plans drawn up for the remaining works, so as to meet the deadline.
Out of the required 75 Lakh Cubic Metres of earthwork to be completed o­n the 40 kms length planned for completion, earth work to the extent of 60 Lakh cubic meters has already been completed. With regard to the works for construction of Minor Bridges in this stretch, out of 80,000 cubic meters of cementing to be done, 45,000 cubic meters have been completed and the balance is targeted for completion by December-2014.The target set for blanketing is January-2015 while Ballasting & Linking works are expected to be complete by February-2015. Basing o­n these plans drawn up, SCR is geared to meet the deadline of March-2015 for completion of the 40 kms length of new railway line.
The General Manager also inspected the construction activity o­n Margutti Tunnel in the section, where excavation work has been completed to the extent of 80 meters till now. He made a visit to the site of Construction of the major bridge o­n Benetthora River in the section. Later, Shri Srivastava directed the officials to ensure that due priority is accorded for the execution and completion of the works as planned, as the stretch of 40 kms planned for completion forms a vital component of the Gulbarga-Bidar New Railway Line Project, which has already seen the commissioning of Humnabad - Bidar section.
