King Of Premium Rajdhanis!- The BCT - NDLS Premium Raj!
Since its inception, the 12951 Mumbai New Delhi Rajdhani has been the undisputed king of Rajdhani Express trains. Starting 2013 however, a new train was launched on the same route - almost challenging the supremacy of the 12951.
Enter the 22913 Mumbai Central - New Delhi Premium Rajdhani Express. One of the first Premium Class trains of India, the 22913 initially did not have any commercial halts between Mumbai and Delhi. The Railways however chose to keep its overall average speed lower...
more... than Mumbai Rajdhani even though it could have easily beaten the Mumbai Rajdhani in terms of average speeds. You know, just because they did not want the 12951’s stature to go down!
After the train was relaunched in 2014, a few halts were added. The average speed is still lower compared to Mumbai Raj - but as you can see in this video, it still is no laggard.
If there is one train that can look up the 12951 Mumbai Rajdhani in the eye, this is perhaps the only one - except maybe for the colossal giant that is the Trivandrum Rajdhani which also partially runs on the same route.
On this day, this train was with an offlink TKD WAP 7.
