3 Roof-line Earthing Switch in WAG9 Locomotive:Before undertaking any maintenance in the loco, the roof busbar must be earthed after lowering both the pantos. The two small yellow keys can only be released after the roof-line is properly earthed. These yellow keys in turn are used for unlocking a key multiplier in the machine room. The key multiplier has a series of keys to unlock various equipments in the machine room.

5 The nameplate on the Main Traction Convertor of a WAG9 Loco. The fact that it is manufactured by BHEL implies that there is now indigenous capability for this critical component.Maybe BHEL should be given contracts for manufacturing the whole locomotive instead of supplying only the parts for it.This should aid in overcoming the shortage of these locos. Also note that the same convertor can be used on the WAP5 loco also.
