Green Route Saga
Read a lot about the Green Route segment in YPR-HAS-MAJN route. Got inspired & decided to have the experience.
Started from YPR in 16515. It began at sharp 7am & I began the lengthy nap at 7.10am which somehow lasted upto ASK.
Then the rake reversal & rushing towards the HAS.
After...
more... HAS, the earth showed its slow transition from the platy deccaun into rolling hills.
Distant ranges harboured wind turbines, coconut gardens were splashed by the sizzling sprinklers, local peoples were busy with their bread earning activities... And with the view of a majestic greeny hillock, Westernghat welcomed my train at Sakleshpura.
I missed the feast of Brakers addition due to my feast on the tasty Porotta-Veg curry combo at platform. It should be acknowledged specially. VERY TASTY Kerala porotta.
And the train started with the mighty alliance of KJM locos towards the lap of elegant mountains.
Coffee plantations first, then the virgin forests & amazing valleys bordered by towering mountain ranges. I saw a river flowing through the valley. I think it's the Kembu hole river. Correct me if I am wrong.
Some tips from my experience.
*Have seated on the right window, preferably emergency window while going to MAJN & vice versa.
*Plz avoid dangerous selfy manuovers at doors.
*Complete all the injetion-excretion activities at Sakleshpura. Then you will be undistracted for the whole segment. Make ready your camera from Sakleshpura to Subramanya for amazing clicks.
*If you can't find an unoccupied window seat, go backwards. Do it before Sakleshpura/Subramanya itself. (Situation may varie based on seasons).
*While going to MAJN, each tunnel exit is golden opportunity for good photos. And the passing of curving bridges too.
*If you can't afford a railfanning trip alone, include Belur,Halebeedu,Kukke Subramanya,Dharmasthala, etc.
Brakers removal at Subramanya Road.
The train arrived MAJN ahead the schedule.
Thanks to lord & Indian railway.
