No direct train to Varanasi
Haribabu urged to take up the issue with PM
“The absence of a direct train from Kashi (Varanasi) to Vizag left me with no choice but to change train at Bhubaneswar,” says Ravi Kishore, who came to Visakhapatnam last week.
“I travelled from Kashi to Bhubaneswar by Nandan Kanan (12816) from Varanasi and from there by Bhubaneswar-Chennai SF...

Both trains the start from New Delhi and go to Puri via Kashi (Banaras) so it will be nice if both are made daily and if Nandan Kanan (12816) is extended till Visakhapatnam, to benefit thousands of pilgrims from Berhampur, Gajapati, Parlakimidi, Ganjam and Gunupur, Rayagada districts of Odisha and Srikakulam and Vizianagaram in AP to travel to Kashi.
“I request Visakhapatnam MP K. Haribabu (who also happens to be State BJP president) to take the initiative to the notice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who represents the Lok Sabha from Varanasi, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, who represents Andhra Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha may help in getting this dream fulfilled.”
“I hope that Mr. Haribabu draws the attention of the Prime Minister during the latter’s visit to the city,” he said.
