as i am booking 1st ac class for train no2951, for me and my first half for my honeymoon and i want 2 berth cabin but at the time of online booking they are asking for 2berth or berth?
so is it the same case with offline also?
how they assigns the cabins(2/4berth)?

They must be asking for Lower Berth.... etc.
Coupes are alloted in 1AC manually at the time of charting. Go ahead and book on one PNR. You will get a good chance of getting a coupe .. Enjoy :) Good luck and good wishes.

The important thing here is not of good or bad chance. If it is single independent coupe, then only the blogger is interested to book online or offline. The blogger needs assured answer and that is possible only on personal enquiry at the PRS counter.

In 1AC or FC, note that coupes/4 berth compartments are allocated manually, not by PRS. Only request can be made for coupe. As per the PNR logic, normally 2 people booked in one PNR are given coupe... especially when they are a couple. Hence my answer. Even enquiry at the PRS counter would reveal the same answer. Good wishes.
The normal answer and the assured answer are both different in as much as one can definitely vouch on when Rly authorities who are booking the tickets answer in affirmative as they are accessed to more coach coupe info.
They might make any on the spot earmarking of a coupe for this PNR.

Kapadia Ji even PRS can not give him an assured answered, as this only done at the time of charting. Also a lot of times there may be Divisional officers of the railway who may be traveling in this class and they sent requests for the 2 persons Coupe. It is a pot luck till time of charting.
