T.No.15101 (CPR-LTT/Load-21 Coaches), Unscheduled loco changed at Khandwa (KNW) Station. WAP5 loco more than 18 Coaches load not permitted in BSL/CR. Fresh Loco given. MOH-03.04.18, Station-KNW, Time-05.35-06.05 hrs. Loco working normal with same train.
Thats true. But We hv hell lots of long coach trains than premium ones and also premium trains like Rajdhani are preffered to be given WAP7 as mentioned by ER, NR, etc.
But in CR like I told we saw many trains with WAP5 in BSL-IGP route which has highest average speed @110 kmph even more than BPQ-NGP 120

mps section. But they restricted it to 18 coach.

Yes, the load factor is against WAP-5. That is why it is better for hauling Shatabdis.

The Better TE is only at the lower speeds. Once they reach the constant power region, both locos have more or less the same TE.
Beyond the 60-80 kmph region, the WAP5 starts giving better acceleration and performance than the P7 (because of the P7's extra weight), which has been corroborated by observations in trains with frequent halts. (RDSO's report on feasibility of modifying WAP7 for 160kmph operations).
In addition, with the P5's now about to be upgraded to 4500KW (through software update

in the TCU), the difference between the P5 and P7 beyond 60kmph is going to increase further, which makes the P5 a better candidate for premium trains.

Yes so premium loco is fit for speed above 140 kmph. It's just Agra Delhi stretch. Otherwise WAP4 n WAP7 too can do the job.
Also about the load we have in our country premium trains too are 20coach and it's not small.
When ER itself which is first zone to start Rajdhani prefers WAP7 stating same reason that the mps is 130kmph both locos wap5n Wap7 n they prefer Wap7 which was suitably provided by RB. When speed above 140 kmph is achieved another suitable loco would be allotted that's what

they replied. They didn't mention Wap5.
So it's far off dream for South India including CR irrespective of postive or negative feedback as majorly the premium trains are running premium trains at 110kmph n few 120kmph Which is well achieved by WAP7. So no need of Wasting Twin wap5 just for the sake of premium loco

Not 140 kmph, it is 60 kmph (please refer to my post above). WAP5 gets a performance advantage over the P7 right from the point where the P7's starting TE falls off and matches with the P5. And obviously this is with the same load conditions.
And a P5's inferior performance with heavy loads compared to the P7 is only in the 0-60kmph range. Beyond that both the P5 and the P7 have similar performances with the P5 actually having a better perf than the P7 because of it's lower weight.

The P5 is by no means under-powered with a 4000KW rating and a higher rated TM's than the P7. It's problems are in tackling some tricky situations, not in it's power or general performance.
For data and corroboration, you can check RDSO's report on feasibility of improving WAP7 to 160kmph, where they also evaluated the benefits of updating WAP5 - click here
