From Durgapur to Kolkata there are many short distance trains of Howrah as punctual timing. Daily Passengers rely highly on this train such as- Coalfield Express, Agneeveena Express, Blackdiamond Express, Hool Express. But it is very disappointed that only one train of Sealdah is present which is Intercity Express. Coalfield Express, Agneeveena Express takes 2 hour 5 minutes to arrive from Howrah to Durgapur whereas SDAH - ASN Intercity takes 3 hours 40 minutes from Sealdah to Durgapur. Distance of Sealdah is 7 KM more than Howrah. Why Sealdah train takes more time ?? The real reason is Howrah division neglects Sealdah train. Intercity Express is stranded between Bandel - Barddhaman section many times. That is why passengers of Durgapur do not take Sealdah train to arrive Kolkata, although Sealdah is comfortable to access Kolkata. Daily Passengers want Sealdah train of punctual timing, Short time.
The actual fact is Sealdah asansole Intercity eXpress runs via Bandel where Coalfield Exp,Agnibeena Both Superfast exp runs via High Speed Straight chord Line.Via Bandel from sealdah asansole is 19km more than via dankuni from howrah.It defenetly takes mores times.
Same condtion like Sealdah Rampurhat maa Tara exp which basically serve the people from Bandel ,Naihati,and Sealdah north Section passengers.
Sealdah is more convient than howrah as it is in central kolkata and connected to each parts by local trains,bus too.
