Dust Raising High Speed Inaugural Run on the Gangavathi - Chikkabenakal new line by UBL WDG4. - Enjoy the high speed run and the green paddy fields for which this region is known for.
-
After the inauguration we were greeted by people all along the way. And then the train hit MPS raising a lot of dust. This happens on new lines where the ballast packing is done newly and the trains are just beginning to ply. But the dust here was overwhelming. Everyone closed their windows, but I kept both the...

You can see the kids pulling off the flowers. At the station itself they had burst almost all the balloons. The colour design papers stuck at the side of the coaches were not torn, but neatly removed, folded and kept in their pockets.

The significance of this new line to the people of this region can be gauged by the celebration and also the decorations to everything related to railways. In this video you see that even bridges across roads, canals and also height barriers that you see on either side of RUBs are decorated with flowers and mango leaves festoons. That's how much this railway line means to them....
-
Finally the train came to Chikka Benakal and you can see the celebrations they had done in the morning. They have decorated the station and they had also decorated the GY WDG4 twins that brought the rake to GGVT in the morning.
-
By the time the train reached Ginigera, not much of the decorations were left. Even the board on GY Twins (they were attached at the end of the rake) were removed.
