Its true that this train used to run between Bilaspur and H. Nizamuddin and was called Nizam (As told by my maternal Grandmother who is now 87). The Sikh population in Chattisgarh (Erstwhile MP ) especially in Raipur, Bhilai and Durg is very high, and there was no connection between Chattisgarh area and Punjab (ASR).
So in order to extend the train to Amritsar, the Sikh Sangat used to lie down on the rail tracks on the Bhilai Power house Station and between Bhilai Nagar...
more... and BPHB (Area called Supela), 1000's of Children and Ladies used to lie down on tracks for hours together during the arrival time of the train and Disrupt its services.
This continued for about a week, when with the intervention of Member of Parliament and Railway Minister, the train was extended to Amritsar.
This particular activity was given the name "Morcha - Chattisgarh" fondly.
Though I was not born at that time, but I could see the valour in the 87 years old eyes of my Grandmother.
