I stay at Mira road (suburb of Mumbai) and if I have to take VB then have to travel from mira road to mumbai central at GHASTLY hour as well probably by 4am and then travel to mumbai central approx one hour and then take 6 1/2 hr train journey in a seat total travel time approx 8-9hrs. Rather I would prefer a flight of one hour. I leave by 9pm from mira rd take 11.30 flight n reach ahmedabad by 12.30 straight 3.5hrs this saving almost 6hrs and no compromise on sleep

Do u get comfortable seat and food if you travel in mumbai local from churchgate to borivali or even borivali to dahanu for eg in passenger train Or flying ranee or karnavati etc?

Trains r expensive and time consuming. More than 52 departures everyday (avg 2 flights every hour) between mumbai and delhi and all are mostly full. Airlines will takeover railway lobby soon under UDAN scheme. In trains we see WL only because of intermediate stations. I recently booked 2AC in golden Temple mail from NZM to BVI 5hrs before departure and got WL51 and it got confirmed. What I observed was that train was vacant from NZM to KOTA and then from RTM to BVI only short distance passengers and it took me almost 19-20hrs
