Local MP and Union power minister R K Singh had earlier urged the railways to beautify Ara junction under the Amrit Bharat Station scheme.
The DRM said new parking zones would be built at the Ara junction. “A car parking zone will be created on the western side of the station and an autorickshaw parking area on the eastern side,” he added.
The DRM said computerized parking receipts would be issued and boot polishers would get a shelter on the hospital premises. He added a hospital would also be built on the station premises.
The road overbridge being built over the eastern railway crossing was also inspected by the DRM. He asked the officials concerned to expedite the project. Two new gates will be built and named after Goddess Aranya Devi and Babu Veer Kunwar Singh, respectively. The DRM also announced that a statue of Veer Kunwar Singh riding on a horse will be built at the Ara station.
The DRM was accompanied by Ara MP’s representative Dheerendra Singh, Ara mayor Indu Devi, BJP district president Durga Raj, Ara station manager Praveen and other railway officials.
