Shri Hanumantha Kamath presented following demands at 162nd DRUCC meeting held at DRM Office,Palakkad.
1. Extension of Tr.No 16539/40 Yesvantapur-Mangaluru Junction weekly express to Mangaluru Central.
Recently the timing of above mentioned Tr.No...
more... 16539/40 Yesvantapur- Mangaluru Junction of was revised in response to public demand. Subsequent to this time revision, the above train had received good patronage from public of the region. If the above train start from Managluru Central it would be very much helpful to sizeable public residing in remote areas of Mangaluru town as per below suggestion.
1. At present above train no 16539 YPR-MAJN weekly express arrives at MAJN at 16.40 hrs on Saturdays and departs on next day (Sunday) morning at 07.00 hrs from MAJN. Presently, there is no dispatch of Tr.No 16586 MAQ-SBC Express from MAQ on Saturdays at evening 18.35 hrs from MAQ. There is no operation of other trains in the above train’s slot on Saturdays , i.e after the departure of MAQ-CAN Express at Plat form no
2 at MAQ ,the platform is vacant till 18.45 hrs. Hence above train, i.e T.No 16539 YPR –MAJN Express can be received at Platform no 2 at MAQ after the departure of Tr.No 06478 MAQ-CAN Passenger at Platform no 2 at MAQ at 17.15 hrs.
2. The above said Tr.No 16539/40 YPR-MAJN-YPR Express is 14 coach train and hence it can be stabled on Road No 2 Line at MAQ after it’s arrival at 17.15 hrs to till next day morning, since in Road number 2 only
A.C locos are at present parked and no train’s rake being parked during overnight. Hence, the above train’s rake and A.C locos can be parked in the same Road no 2, by positioning A.C locos ahead or rear side of above said tran’s Rake in Road number 2 from evening 17.30 hrs to next day morning 05.30 hrs.
3. On Next day morning (Sunday) the above train can be moved to Platform number 3 and can be dispatched to YPR side at 6.40 hrs so as to reach
MAJN at 6.55 hrs and despatched at scheduled departure time of 7.00 hrs from MAJN.
2. Operation of additional Konkan and Bengaluru bound trains from MAQ after commissioning of Platform no 4 and 5 at Mangaluru Central
At present, there are sizeable number of trains operating between Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram/Chennai side from Mangaluru Central. There is very less number of trains originating from Mangaluru to the various destinations at Konakn side and neighborhood towns Of Karnataka such as Belgavi, Hospete, Hubbalali etc. Hence, after the commissioning of new platforms at MAQ priority should be given for introduction of new trains from Mangaluru Central to Bengaluru, Hubballi and Gulbaraga etc. There is no more requirement of new trains towards South direction from MAQ as there are sufficient numbers of trains are already operating from Mangaluru towards various destinations in South direction. The need of the hour is to start new trains to Karnataka cities from MAQ.
In future, new trains from Mangaluru towards South side may be started from Mangaluru Junction and Konkan and Bengaluru side train may originate and terminate at Mangaluru Central.
Hence, it is requested to extend following trains from MAJN to MAQ soon after completion of new platforms at MAQ
1. Tr.No 12133/34 CSTM-Mangaluru Juction S.F Express
2. Tr.No 16575/76 YPR-MAJN tri weekly Gommateshwara Express
3. Tr.No 07337/78 BJP-MAJN daily express.
3. Providing electronic Coach display indicators and Electronic Platform display board for indicating Train arrival/departure information at MAQ station.
Kindly provide electronic coach indicators and electronic Platform display boards for displaying the train arrival and departure information at main arrival hall in each platform at MAQ and MAJN stations for the
convenience of passengers. However, despite persistent demand since past one year the same is not considered. It may be noted that, in the 161st DRUCC meeting held on dtd 09.02.2023, it was informed to me that, “ A tender has been floated for provision of electronic display board at Mangaluru Station and same shall be provided within two months” . However, the same is not installed at MAQ and MAJN stations so far. I therefore request you to kindly provide the same at an early date.
4. Kindly expedite the ongoing constriction work of additional platform at Mangaluru Central.
Kindly expedite the above said construction works. The remaining work of providing FOB and laying track at north (Attavara) dead side end may be facilitated at an early date.
5. Kindly provide one number of additional Stabling line at MAQ besides proposed Platform no 5 line.
This would facilitate operation of additional trains from MAQ besides reducing the traffic congestion.
6. Kindly increase the length of Bay line platform at MAQ so as to hold 16 coach trains in lieu of existing capacity of holding 9 coach trains.
The above suggestion would facilitate operation of more commuter/MEMU trains from MAQ to neighborhood towns.
7. Opening up the Toilet at Second/Third platform at MAQ for public use
During the 160th DRUCC meeting held on 11.11.2022, I have raised an important issue that, the toilet situated at Second/third platform at MAQ is in kept closed condition since a long time. In response to my above query, it was informed to me in the above meeting that, “…Toilet is already available in PF no 2 and PFno 3,which is under repair” . However, the above said Toilet is still in kept closed condition due to which travelling public are facing much inconvenience. Request you to kindly do the needful in this regard.
