NRW-Kaithal was built around 1940 and there was a huge years gap to complete line till KKDE (in Railway time tables before indepenedce 1947, Narwana is clearly marked as JN station with trains going till Lahore)

more... reason to built the line was freight as lot of food grain was supplied from district of JIND, Kaithal and KKDE to Mumbai and karachi port in time of WW2. (my Guess work only) and Raja of Jind pricery state had a very good relation with british.
When Guljarilal nanda become MP from KKDE-Kaithal consituency, many new trans was introduced on line (Guljarilal nanda was 2 times Care traker Prime minister of India as well for short period)
in initial days there was trains from UMB to JHL as well with reversal at NRW (using steam engine reverese table), but after diesel railway never run a direct train from JHL to KKDE
You can still find some parts of steam engine reverese table at Narwana station side lines near Station master room

The Narwana Junction to Kurukshetra railway line was built around 1940. It took a long time to complete the line till KKDE (Before independence in 1947, Narwana was marked as JN station with trains going till Lahore).
The probable reason for building the line was to transport a large amount of food grain from districts like JIND, Kaithal, and KKDE to Mumbai and Karachi ports during World War 2 (my guess only). The Raja of Jind princely state had a good relationship with the British.
When Guljarilal Nanda became an MP from the KKDE-Kaithal constituency, many new trains were introduced on the line. Guljarilal Nanda was also the Caretaker Prime Minister of India twice for a short period.
In the early days, there were trains from UMB to JHL as well, with a reversal at NRW (using a steam engine reverse table). However, after diesel engines were introduced, there were no direct trains from JHL to KKDE.
You can still find some parts of the steam engine reverse table near the station master's room at Narwana station.

NRW-Kaithal lagbhag 1940 mein banayi gayi thi aur KKDE tak line ko pura karne mein kafi saalon ka antar tha (jaise ki Railway time tables mein independence se pehle 1947 mein, Narwana clearly JN station ke roop mein mark ki gayi thi aur train Lahore tak jaati thi).
Line banane ka sambhav karan khadyann seva tha kyun ki JIND, Kaithal aur KKDE ke zilon se Mumbai aur Karachi ke port tak bhojan anaaj bheja jata tha WW2 ke samay mein. (Sirf meri shayad hai) Aur Jind prabhidhan ke raja, British sarkar se badi acchi sambandh rakhte the.
Jab Guljarilal Nanda KKDE-Kaithal kshetra se MP bane, tab line par kai naye train shuru ki gayi (Guljarilal Nanda do baar bharat ke care taker pradhan mantri bhi rahe, chhoti awadhi ke liye)
Shuruati dino mein UMB se JHL tak bhi train chalti thi, NRW par reversal ke saath (steam engine reverse table ka istemaal karke), lekin diesel ke baad JHL se seedhe KKDE tak train nahi chalti.
Tum Narwana station ke pass, station master room ke paas, kuch steam engine reverse table ke tukde ab bhi mil sakte ho.
