Chandigarh Metro to Feature 3 Corridors with Mostly Elevated Corridors

The project is known as the Tricity Metro as it covers parts of Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali/New Chandigarh, and its governing body is the Unified Metro Transportation Authority (UMTA). The project received approval from UMTA in July and from the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) in September. The detailed project report (DPR) is expected by January 2024, with construction commencing in April 2024. The need for a metro system stems from increasing traffic volume, a rising population, and economic growth in the region.

km aur 2 corridors mein banaya jaayega, Phase 1 ke khatam hone ke baad shuru hoga. Is project ko Tricity Metro ka naam diya gaya hai kyunki yeh Chandigarh, Panchkula, aur Mohali/New Chandigarh mein phail gaya hai. Iska governing body Unified Metro Transportation Authority (UMTA) hai. UMTA ne July mein aur Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) ne September mein is project ko approval de diya. Detailed project report (DPR) January 2024 tak submit hone ki umeed hai, aur construction April 2024 mein shuru ho jaayega. Is area mein traffic ka badhna, population ka badhna, aur economic growth ne metro system ki jarurat ko badha diya hai.
