Land acquisition is required for the project, and the final report is expected soon after minor rectifications. The new tunnel will allow trains to bypass the curve and increase speed from 110 kmph to 130 kmph, eventually reaching 160 kmph. Around 18 trains, including Jan Shatabdi and Vande Bharat, are expected to use this new route.
