The interim budget presented by India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to benefit Himachal Pradesh's tourism sector. Additionally, the budget will increase funding for the Nangal-Talwara rail line and accelerate the construction of the Bhanupalli-Bilaspur-Bairi rail line. The budget also proposes expanding the Kangra airport and potentially expanding the Shimla and Bhuntar airports. The central government's rooftop solarization scheme will provide free electricity for households and potentially create an income source for building owners. The Ayushman Bharat scheme, providing healthcare coverage, will be expanded to benefit rural residents. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, a housing scheme for low-income families, will continue to provide homes for eligible families.
