Extending the service to Kozhikode, which is already well-connected to Bengaluru by other trains, would create additional demand for seats, making it difficult for Karnataka passengers to secure them. Rao pointed out that the extension would also reduce the availability of reserved berths on the train as unreserved coaches would be occupied by passengers travelling between Kannur and Kozhikode. He requested the Railway Ministry to reconsider the extension and retain the existing train services.
