The thieves broke the locks of three doors in the East Cabin and the tool room, located near the down platform, to carry out the theft. Train operations were disrupted for about two hours after the theft of the 61 relays. Mail Express, up and down trains, as well as Gyaneshwari Express and Azad Hind Express trains were affected due to the theft of the relays from the railway's signaling system. RPF and district police are investigating the scene and trying to identify the thieves. The dog squad has also been called in to assist in the investigation. Senior Divisional Security Commissioner P Shankar Kutti visited Goilkera on Wednesday morning and inspected the site of the theft. A search operation was conducted in the surrounding area. The dog squad was called from Tatanagar to help track the thieves. The dog squad stopped near the Urainv Toli, some distance from the railway cabin. The Senior DSC said that the incident is being investigated and the thieves will not be spared. Trains were operated under pilot control for eight hours due to the theft of the relays in Goilkera.
