Market, which is currently located where the Esplanade station is planned. The Defence Ministry has stated that no new space can be allocated for the rehabilitation of Bidhan Market vendors within their area. This has left the Metro authorities with no other option but to find an alternate location for the Esplanade station. Consequently, the project is expected to be delayed by several years. The Esplanade station is intended to be a junction point for the East-West Metro corridor, the Kavi Subhas-Dakshineswar metro corridor, and the Joka-Esplanade metro corridor, making its construction crucial for the city's overall metro network.

land dene se refuse kar diya, jahan pe currently Esplanade station banna tha. Defence Ministry ne bola ki unke area mein Bidhan Market ke vendors ke rehabilitation ke liye koi bhi new space allocate nahi kiya ja sakta. Isse Metro authorities ko Esplanade station ke liye alternate location dhundne ki majboori aa gayi. Isse project kaafi saal delay ho jaane ki umeed hai. Esplanade station East-West Metro corridor, Kavi Subhas-Dakshineswar metro corridor aur Joka-Esplanade metro corridor ka junction point banne wala tha, toh yeh city ke overall metro network ke liye bohot important hai.
