many influential figures reacting to the fake news without verifying its authenticity have amplified the confusion. Earlier, Minister V. Abdurahman had written to the Union Railway Minister requesting the division not be closed. Rumors about the closure had spread on social media, claiming that Palakkad division would be shut down and replaced with new divisions centered in Coimbatore and Mangalore. The Palakkad division, which has a significant number of passengers and revenue, is one of the oldest in India, formed in 1956. It was previously divided to form the Salem division. Currently, it extends from Poothanur to Mangalore, covering 588 kilometers. It is also performing well financially, generating 964.19 crores from passenger trains alone during the 2023-24 financial year.

Statement mein yeh bhi kaha gaya hai ki kaafi influential logon ne bina verify kiye hi news ko share kiya, jisse confusion aur badh gaya. Pehle Minister V. Abdurahman ne Union Railway Minister ko letter likhkar request kiya tha ki division ko band na kiya jaaye. Social media par yeh khabar chal rahi thi ki Palakkad division ko band karke Coimbatore aur Mangalore mein new divisions banaye jayenge. Palakkad division, jisme bahut saare passengers aur revenue aata hai, India ke sabse purane divisions mein se ek hai, jisko 1956 mein banaya gaya tha. Pehle isko alag karke Salem division banaya gaya tha. Ab yeh Poothanur se Mangalore tak, 588 kilometer tak spread hai. Financial terms mein bhi yeh bahut achcha kar raha hai, 2023-24 financial year mein sirf passenger trains se hi 964.19 crore ka revenue aaya hai.
