TDP’s national role fuels hopes for Vizag railway zone, RINL retention

After the recent elections, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is now a key player in the national government. This has raised expectations in Visakhapatnam, especially regarding the establishment of a new railway zone and reversing the decision to privatize Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the company behind the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant....

While Special Category Status has been a long-standing demand, it is unlikely to be granted. Instead, the TDP may prioritize securing substantial funding for projects like the Polavaram irrigation project. The railway zone was promised by Prime Minister Modi during the 2019 election campaign. The new TDP government may also push for funding for the Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada metro rail projects, which have stalled. Additionally, the TDP may oppose the privatization of RINL and advocate for alternative solutions to improve its financial health, such as capital restructuring and granting captive iron ore mines. The RINL unions are hopeful that the TDP's influence will prevent privatization.

Recent elections mein TDP national level pe ek bada player ban gaya hai. Isse Visakhapatnam mein logon ko bahut umeed hai, khass karke ek new railway zone banana aur Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) ko privatize karne ka decision withdraw karne ke baare mein. Special Category Status ka maamla bahut...

saal se chala a raha hai, lekin ab iske milne ki ummeed kam hai. Iske baad, TDP Polavaram irrigation project jaise projects ke liye funding lene par focus karega. 2019 election campaign mein Prime Minister Modi ne railway zone ka waada kiya tha. New TDP government Visakhapatnam aur Vijayawada metro rail projects ke liye bhi funding maangega, jo ki pehle ruk gaye the. Iske alawa, TDP RINL ki privatization ka virodh karega aur iske financial health ko improve karne ke liye alternative solutions jaise ki capital restructuring aur captive iron ore mines dene ka proposal karega. RINL unions ko umeed hai ki TDP ka influence privatization ko rokne mein madad karega.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
