Kolkata Metro: একাধিক স্টেশনের দায়িত্ব এক সুপারের কাঁধে, মেট্রোর সিদ্ধান্তে ক্ষোভ কর্মী মহলে

The Kolkata Metro authority has decided to assign the responsibility of managing two stations to one station supervisor. This decision has been made to address the staffing shortage and has been implemented across all metro lines. Earlier, this system was already in place on the New Garia-Ruby, East-West Metro's Sealdah to...

Sector Five and Howrah Maidan to Esplanade routes. This new policy has caused anxiety among metro employees. The decision was announced on Tuesday, the day Lok Sabha election results were declared. The new policy assigns responsibility for stations like Barahnagar-Dakshineswar and Dum Dum-Belgachia in the north to a single supervisor. In the south, all stations except Kavi Subhas have been assigned to two stations per supervisor. The same approach is being followed for East-West, New Garia-Ruby and Joka-Majherhat metros. While some officials argue that this will help in streamlining management and reduce workload, a majority of station supervisors are concerned about the negative impact this might have on the quality of service and emergency response. They fear that in case of an emergency, it will be difficult for them to reach the affected station quickly and take timely decisions. Metro authorities claim the new system will improve management, but many employees are opposed to it, fearing it will negatively impact service quality.

Kolkata Metro ke authorities ne do stations ka responsibility ek station supervisor ko dekar staff ki kami ka samasya solve karne ka faisla liya hai. Yeh decision sabhi metro lines pe laga diya gaya hai. Pehle, yeh system New Garia-Ruby, East-West Metro ke Sealdah se Sector Five aur Howrah Maidan se...

Esplanade route pe chal raha tha. Is naye policy se metro employees me tension aa gaya hai. Yeh decision Tuesday ko announce kiya gaya tha, jab Lok Sabha election ka results aaya tha. Is naye policy ke tahat, North ke Barahnagar-Dakshineswar aur Dum Dum-Belgachia jaise stations ka responsibility ek hi supervisor ko diya gaya hai. South me, Kavi Subhas ke alawa sabhi stations ko ek supervisor pe do stations ki responsibility di gayi hai. East-West, New Garia-Ruby aur Joka-Majherhat metros pe bhi yeh system follow kiya ja raha hai. Kuchh officials ka maanana hai ki isse management aasan ho jayega aur workload kam ho jayega, lekin zyadatar station supervisors is baat se chinta kar rahe hain ki yeh quality of service aur emergency response pe bura asar dalega. Unhe dar hai ki koi emergency ki halat mein, unke liye affected station tak jaldi pahunchna aur time pe decision lena mushkil ho jayega. Metro authorities ka kehna hai ki yeh new system management ko improve karega, lekin bahut se employees iske khilaf hain, unhe dar hai ki isse service quality pe bura asar pad sakta hai.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
