Bengaluru suburban rail: Agency invites tender for station work on 'priority section'

The Bengaluru suburban rail project, executed by K-RIDE, is progressing with tenders being issued for station work on the Chikkabanavara–Yeswantpur priority section. expected to be completed within 24 months. The remaining stations on the priority section, namely Yeswantpur, Shettihalli, Myadarahalli, and Chikkabanavara, will be included in a separate tender. All suburban rail stations will feature platform screen doors for passenger safety. The project aims to operationalize the priority section by December 2025 and complete all four corridors by 2027. However, delays in finalizing the rolling stock contract under a lease model, with bidders seeking additional time, may impact the timeline. As an alternative, K-RIDE is considering the use of Vande Metro trains for the suburban rail network.

Priority section ke baaki stations, Yeswantpur, Shettihalli, Myadarahalli aur Chikkabanavara, ke liye alag tender aayega. Saare suburban rail stations pe passenger safety ke liye platform screen doors honge. Project ka target hai ki priority section December 2025 tak chalne lage aur saare chaar corridors 2027 tak complete ho jaaye. Lekin lease model pe rolling stock contract finalize hone mein der ho rahi hai, bidders ko extra time chahiye hai, isse project ki deadline pe asar pad sakta hai. Iske baad, K-RIDE suburban rail network pe Vande Metro trains use karne ke baare mein soch raha hai.
