I agree adding 'ameer and gareeb' to every discussion is completely wrong and sensational. That's just pure hatred towards people who are doing better than them.

But if all coaches are AC, and the fares are like we see in 3ACE, who will pay for their travel? Subsidies? Given than 80 out of 140 crore, i.e. 50% of our population is still dependent on social security net for food.

Great Agree
Still not able to decipher your point of view. You also are pro-sleeper traveler. I really felt pity with your level of understanding.

" Sympathizers of poor people and well wishers of Sleeper Coaches. Can you bring back the life of two innocents?" What you expect from Sympathizers of poor people, what you expecting from people like me to do.

2 deaths are tragic but still some 800 people travelled in same class and same train, they reached their destinations, You are partial ignorant ( as calling brain dead will be too harsh in public). You are baffled between poor vs loss. But irony is in a country where 80 crore depend on subsidized food and top 10% people earn 25,000 per month you can't expect them to buy tickets for AC Classes. I accept EXP/ SF trains are loss making but are freight trains not part of same system and railways as a single umbrella is making profit.

Few questions for you to understand your POV:

If sleeper class is sole reason for burden to railways then why Amrit Bharat trains are being launched, what it is so hyped as pro-poor train ?

There are Jan sadharan, Jansewa , Antodaya , jan nayak and other 1000s of passenger trains ( Local, EMU, DMU, MEMU) that are running. As per you these all should be stopped as they are loss making too.

On reading the news can you tell were sleeper class travel was sole reason for their demise. Maybe they are having pre-existing ailments? Media reports at present are with credibility at all time low.

Travelling in summers without AC is difficult . Will summer season is for 12 months, so what about other seasons. As people will we using trains in all seasons.

There is rush during Holi, chatth puja, diwali etc seasons , there was even a stampede at Surat now you never felt sympathy for it. Kindly tell who was responsible for those deaths.

Railways is paralyzed by politics that's leading to it operationally towards non sustainable.

Raise the fares if its needed, what is stopping them. If the fares are increased then losses will be covered possibly then these autocrats won't be saying railways are in losses. They are deliberately not raising fares else these haay-tauba loss-loss wala arguments will be over. But kursi is more important.

I know you will not provide answer but will pick a point and start defending you own points.

In one of his blogs long ago he mentioned he prefers to travel in SL, still his blogs highlight that SL should be removed, AC should be predominant. All in name ot 'Development'.

Traveling without AC in summers is difficult, I agree. Have been a victim of it. But that's not a ground for justifying AC addition. A large chunk of our population still can't afford more than general classes or sleeper. Blind AC-fying is just another reason to get backdoor revenue and a show of pseudo-development.

Moreover if I've to travel without reservation, I should have the option to opt GS, I can't be forced to book tickets in reserved classes. This is one of the main reasons of reserved class overcrowding.

Even the new Amrit Bharat tender has 11-12 GS coaches notification. All type of coaches should be available be it GS, SL or AC1. Let people choose what they want. And according to demand, composition can be altered further.
