300 km long rail project has been in the making for nearly a year and a half. The final location survey for the project has been completed, and after necessary changes, the project was first sent to the Railway Ministry and now to the NITI Aayog. Manoj Marathe, Convener of the Indore-Manmad Rail Lau Committee, said that this information was provided to him by railway official Samir Kumar. The land acquisition process for the project will begin immediately after the necessary approvals are obtained. After 90% of the land is acquired, tenders will be floated for the construction of the rail line. Marathe recently met the chairman of the Scheduled Castes Commission, Antarsingh Arya, and informed him about the progress made on the Manmad project. He requested Arya to cooperate in ensuring that the project work starts soon, as the line passes through backward tribal areas. Arya assured that he would meet the Railway Minister and request him to expedite the project.
