Expressways will be built for easy access to the stations. The project spans 20 km from Nehru Nagar to Siruseri SIPCOT with 19 stations. The OMR IT Corridor will be integrated with the Madhavaram, Paal Colony-Siruseri SIPCOT Corridor-3 in the Phase 2 metro project, covering a distance of 45.4 km. Due to road design changes, the OMR rail hub is expected to be operational by the end of 2026, six months later than initially planned. The area experiences heavy traffic with over 100,000 vehicles and 3,000 pedestrians daily. Passengers can interchange at the Light House or Alwarpet platforms to reach T Nagar and Kodambakkam. They can also interchange at Alandur platforms for airport, Egmore or Central. The elevated corridor's second phase will be extended 80-100 meters from Sozhinganallur to Kalaignar Karunanidhi Road, facilitating future expansion to ECR. Service roads will be built under the metro routes to ease traffic congestion and provide quick access to vehicles heading to Karapakkam, Medavakkam, Semmenchery, East Coast Road and metro stations.
