The Howrah, Sealdah, Asansol, and Malda divisions, along with the Liluah, Kanchrapara, and Jamalpur workshops have all contributed to this impressive output. The installation of new solar units has boosted energy capacity, with a total of 661617 kilowatt-hours of new solar units installed. This achievement represents 7.19% of the total energy consumption for 2024-25, showcasing Eastern Railway's commitment to sustainable energy solutions and environmental impact reduction. Eastern Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer, Kaushik Mitra, expressed pride in harnessing solar energy and its contribution to a brighter and greener future.
