The project is being undertaken by the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and involves the construction of a 125-km long new railway line divided into 10 construction packages. Tunnel 13, the escape tunnel, passes through an area with low overburden near Rudraprayag, Punad Gade, and Aun village, where controlled blasts and mechanical excavation were carried out. The construction of the escape tunnel involved four different faces: Narkota, Sumerpur, Edit 7 Jawardi Bypass, and PK-7B. The tunnel breakthrough was achieved on Wednesday night at 11:35 PM. The project, which includes the construction of 10 tunnels, is expected to be completed in 2026.

Escape tunnel ka construction 4 different faces se kiya gaya: Narkota, Sumerpur, Edit 7 Jawardi Bypass, aur PK-7B. Tunnel breakthrough Wednesday raat 11:35 PM pe hua. Project mein 10 tunnels ban rahe hain, aur yeh 2026 tak complete hone ki ummeed hai.
