The BJP is banking on its development projects, including the Metro rail, riverfront development, and the new airport terminal. However, the MVA is confident of winning, citing public dissatisfaction with the BJP's performance. Key seats being contested include Hadapsar, Wadgaonsheri, Khadakwasla, Parvati, Shivajinagar, Kasba Peth, and Pune Cantonment. The Congress is looking to retain its hold on the Kasba Peth seat, which it won in a by-election. The BJP is hoping to retain its hold on five seats, but its incumbents face tough competition.
