Assuming that everyone has understood the previously discussed points, let me proceed with the last and final explanation.
#chartingatoriginatingstation
Now, I have explained above how #berthmultiplexing takes place which subsequently might lead to forwarding of berths. Now, the "forwarding" thing can happen during booking (Explained above) or even at chart preparation.
Imagine, a train which follows the route HWH-BWN-DHN-MGS-CNB-NDLS.
Now,...
more... say 150 berths are earmarked only for HWH-DHN section leaving the remaining portion vacant. I would also assume that there are 100 ARP berths for DHN-NDLS sector.
Now the difference we would notice here is that even though someone may book the 150 berths for HWH-DHN sector, berths would not get immediately forwarded. It would only be forwarded once chart is been prepared at HWH for HWH-DHN sector. That is once the chart gets prepared for HWH-DHN sector, the vacant portion of the berths DHN-NDLS would be immediately forwarded and this would result in atleast 50(150-100) confirmations of Waitlisted passengers between DHN-NDLS.
This further summarises that unlike the previous phenomena, we are unlikely to see variation in the waitlisted numbers during booking and confirmation would happen only during chart preparation. To let these confirmation take place it would not be necessary or mandatory for chart preparation to actually take place for DHN-NDLS sector. In such instances, the system would show something like:
Pass 1:
Confirmed (Booking Status [Originally in Waitlist], Quota)
Chart Not Prepared
Once chart is been prepared for DHN-NDLS sector, this would reflect as "Chart Prepared".
iv)
#chartingatpreviousremotestationConcept here is the same as previous one. Just, instead of HWH-DHN imagine this as BWN-DHN where BWN is an important remote station for this train and carried a lot of berths for its own and hence sees its own chart preparation.
BWN-DHN=> 150
DHN-NDLS=> 100
Remaining (150-100)=50 berths gets forwarded during chart preparation at DHN resulting in confirmation of waitlisted passengers ex-DHN or beyond as their boarding point/quota distribution might be.
This is all I had to say about
#berthmultiplexing. Hope, I could make everyone understand about the tiny nitty-gritty of the same.
PS:- Do note that
#berthmultiplexing applies for Tatkal too.
Thanks.
