been registered against six accused. The incident occurred on August 1st when Somnath was waiting for a train to Howrah at Patna Junction. A GRP constable, Krishna Kumar Thakur, accused Somnath of suspicious behavior and took him to the police station where he was detained and threatened with being sent to jail. He demanded Rs. 50,000 and took Rs. 20,000 from Somnath. He then demanded another Rs. 30,000, which Somnath arranged by transferring Rs. 19,000 online to an account provided by the constable. After this, Somnath was released. Upon reaching West Bengal, Somnath filed a complaint with the railway helpline 139 on August 4th. An investigation was conducted by the SP Headquarters, Prabhakar Tiwari, which confirmed the extortion through CCTV footage and mobile evidence.
