new ATVM. The NER has already placed an order for these machines, with other key stations like Lucknow (8), Varanasi (8), Gonda (6), and other stations receiving machines based on their needs. Gorakhpur Junction had previously installed 12 ATVM four years ago, but these machines became dysfunctional during the COVID-19 pandemic. After repair, these machines are now fully operational. Passengers can also purchase tickets through the JTBBS system, where authorized vendors sell tickets outside the station for a fee. The Indian Railways also provides the UTS app for mobile ticketing, though its usage remains low. Gorakhpur Junction sees around 50,000 daily passengers traveling in general coaches. There are 16 ticket counters, with one dedicated to women (window 14) and another to senior citizens (window 15). There are 14 JTBBS counters in the Gorakhpur region, and about 4,000 passengers purchase tickets through them.
