The Bhopal Metro management had promised to conserve every drop of rainwater. However, the current situation shows that rainwater is being wasted as it flows down the track pillars. This is because recharge wells under the track are yet to be constructed, despite the provision for a rain water harvesting system...

in the detailed project report. The metro management claims that this work is the last phase of the project, but considering the priority corridor is almost complete and the metro is aiming for commercial operations by December, this oversight raises serious concerns. The priority corridor is unlikely to be operational by year-end, with work remaining on several aspects, including the construction of a steel bridge and finishing touches at metro stations. While the metro management seems unconcerned about the rain water harvesting system, the project's original plan was to conserve 20 million liters of rainwater annually in Bhopal and Indore by implementing a rain water harvesting system below the elevated tracks. This system would have diverted rainwater into underground recharge wells through pipes. However, this work remains incomplete. The Metro managing director, Siby Chakravarthy, confirmed that the rain water harvesting system is under construction and will be completed in the final phase of the project.

Bhopal Metro management ne vaada kiya tha ki barish ki har booँd ko saheja jaayega, par aajkal track ke pillars se bahte pani ko dekh kar saaf pata chal raha hai ki jis pani ko sahej sakte the, uski filhaal barbaadi hi ho rahi hai. Yeh sab isliye hai kyunki ab...

tak track ke niche recharge wells nahi ban sake hai, halanki DPR mein rain water harvesting system ko lagaye jaane ka provision hai. Metro management kehta hai ki yeh kaam project ke antim charan ka hai, par jab priority corridor almost ban kar taiyaar hai aur metro December tak commercial run shuru karne ki koshish kar raha hai, toh yeh laaparvahi serious concern ban jaati hai. Priority corridor is saal ke ant tak bhi shuru nahi ho paayega, kyunki priority corridor ke kai kaam abhi baaki hai. Steel bridge banne ka kaam chal raha hai aur metro stations par finishing ke kaam ko priority di jaa rahi hai, par aham baat yeh hai ki rain water harvesting system ke kaam ko lekar management serious nahin dikh raha. Isliye track se barish ke dauraan laakhon litre pani ki barbaadi ho rahi hai. Original plan mein Bhopal aur Indore mein har saal 20 lakh litre barish ke pani ko sahej ne ki yojana thi. Elevated tracks ke niche rain water harvesting system lagane ka plan tha, jisse barish ka pani pipes ke through bhugarb mein jata. Par abhi yeh kaam baaki hai. Metro managing director, Siby Chakravarthy ne confirm kiya hai ki rain water harvesting system under construction hai aur project ke antim charan mein complete ho jaayega.
