Purple Line, currently operational from Joka to Majerhat, will eventually stretch to Esplanade. The new Park Street station is being built using the cut-and-cover method, which is also being used for the final 500 meters of the Joka-Esplanade Metro. This marks the start of the final construction phase for the line. RVNL has begun transplanting 184 trees that will be removed from Maidan opposite the current Park Street station, with 55 already moved to Kamardanga.
