The DRM of Waltair Division, Saurabh Prasad, confirmed that the coaches were empty at the time of the fire and the train was scheduled to be taken to the depot for maintenance. After the fire was extinguished, the train (except for the damaged coaches) was sent to the depot. The burnt coaches will be removed after clearance from the Andhra Pradesh Fire Service. The Korba station master, SK Vishwas, stated that he received information about the incident from the media and that the train departed from Korba at 4:10 PM on Saturday and arrived in Visakhapatnam at 6:10 AM. The incident occurred upon arrival, with no passengers reported injured.
