The line will be operational only during the Mandala-Makaravilakku season, with the possibility of running trains for five days each Malayalam month depending on the temple's request. The total length of the line is 60 km, with four stations: Chengannur, Aranmula, Vadasserikkara, and Pamba. The station at Nilackal will be underground. The estimated journey time is 50 minutes, and the line will be served by Vande Metro trains with up to 16 coaches. The stations at Aranmula, Vadasserikkara, and Pamba will be modeled after metro stations, while Chengannur station will become a junction station. The Pamba station is planned near the KSRTC stand.
