The weather department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for 27 districts, with similar conditions expected to persist till August 16th. The rainfall recorded in the past 24 hours was 11.2 mm, 58% above the normal level. Barabanki witnessed the highest rainfall at 61 mm. While the total rainfall from June 1st to August 11th stands at 383.1 mm, it's 10% below the normal average. Professor Manoj Srivastava, a meteorologist at BHU, stated that there is a high possibility of further rainfall, potentially leading to a rise in the Ganga's water levels.
