This new section will provide relief to commuters and Meerut South will be the first station in Meerut city, followed by Shaheedpur, Begampur and Modipur stations. The 82 km Delhi-Meerut corridor aims to be operational by 2025. The fare from Sahibabad to Meerut South is ₹110 for standard coaches and ₹220 for premium coaches. The Meerut South station has 3 platforms, 2 for Namo Bharat trains and 1 for Meerut Metro. It also offers parking for 300 cars and 900 two-wheelers with a fee structure for different durations. The extension will facilitate travel between Meerut and Ghaziabad, easing traffic congestion in the region.
